YouSwoop’s “So You Think You Can Network” Featuring Social Media and Marketing Experts

On February 28, 2013, Chicago, IL, “So You Think You Can Network” was held at Goose Island Clybourn, a hip Lincoln Park bar. The event was organized by YouSwoop and Shari Duffy of Ladies Night Chicago.

The event attended by close to 200 entrepreneurs and Chicago professionals featured a social media and marketing expert panel comprised of well-known Chicago figures. The panel included Jeff Conway from NBC, Rose Mandel of Mandel Productions, Jon Cotay of Akira, Katie Cahnmann of Now You Know and Leonard Mogul of Kontinent Media and Arts4Kids Foundation.

Event attendees had an opportunity to network, before expert panel took the stage, while DJ Corey Sanford of Mix Masters spun groovy tracks. At 7:30pm the panel shared best tips, practices, mistakes to avoid and social media trends in 2013 as event guests listened attentively. Those in attendance received a copy of the guest list with contacts to continue growing their network.

Shari Duffy the event organizer and owner of Ladies Night talked about the importance of growing your network and working with business people of quality. She concluded by saying, “surround yourself with good people and you will never be alone.”

Katie Cahmann of Now You Know, remarked that “I was delighted and honored to be selected as one of the panelists and be among some of the most talented and knowledgeable entrepreneurs in the city of Chicago. I was impressed with the expertise shared during So You Think You Can Network and believe guests walked away with applicable real-life knowledge to aid in their own success.”

Leonard Mogul of Kontinent Media and Arts4Kids Foundation spoke of the importance of utilizing the social media to its fullest. He further stated that “in order to grow your business via social media you have to give people value. Do not just post sales and discounts on your business page. Offer your followers relevant advice and your customer base will grow.” He concluded that “it’s an honor to be selected among other prominent Chicagoans to serve as a social media and marketing expert.”
