What happens tomorrow?

If you observe the world long enough, the observed object acquires dynamics. I remembered a childhood illusion – the world is the way it was. It wasn’t until much later that I noticed that nothing was complete in our world.

With my birth, I witnessed three realities: the triumph of the USSR – I was born in occupied Germany, defeated by Stalin’s empire, in whose army my father fought; the decline of Europe, manifested both by the success of Nazism and its defeat by Stalinism; the failure of the plan for the “final solution of the Jewish question” – we multiplied instead. I participated in the baby boom of Jewish survivors.

Six months after I was born, the United Nations made a historic decision to partition Palestine, which meant the re-establishment of a Jewish state. 18 centuries after the collapse of ancient Judea, the era of dispersion began, and the era of the new Israel began.

The next 40 years were spent in the rivalry of the superpower of the USSR and tiny Israel. The USSR supplied the enemies of the Jews with its best weapons, was twice on the verge of ordering a nuclear attack on Israel, within itself it tried to suppress the Jewish movement for repatriation. My family for 7 years, from 1979 to 1986, participated in this movement. The Jews won on both fronts. Everyone who wanted to leave emigrated, and the USSR collapsed.

We arrived in the United States when the country was at the peak of its power. The American idea triumphed in the world. But soon the Iran-Contra scandal broke out, and it was now clear that that scandal marked the beginning of the decline of American civilization.

The Iran-Iraq war was still going on. The Reagan administration made sure there was no winner. By balancing the forces, the U.S. was also selling weapons to Iran through israel’s intermediary. For this, the pro-Iranian Hezbollah freed some American hostages. And the money raised for the weapons was transferred to pay for the “contras” who fought the communist insurgents in Nicaragua. The triple target of the secret operation was in America’s national interest. In 1988, after 8 years of war, Iran and Iraq stopped fighting and agreed to a draw.

The covert U.S. intelligence operation was leaked to the press. Maybe it was spread by influential Senator John Kerry, a big fan of the Nicaraguan rebels and a Reagan hater. In 2004, he almost became the president of the United States, and from 2013 to 2017 under President Obama he served as U.S. secretary of state. Kerry is now the main man in the climate change issue.

In the wake of this scandal that paralyzed the last two years of Reagan’s presidency, the concern of the U.S. “deep state” increasingly became not in America’s national interests, but in the spread of neo-Marxist ideas around the world. Clinton’s air wars in the Balkans were fought in support of Islamist forces; Bush Jr.’s war against secular Iraq handed over power there to Iran’s Shiite allies. What Reagan was fighting against has come true – an aggressive Shiite bloc has formed.  Obama handed over the power to Islamists wherever he could: in Egypt (later they were overthrown by  the military), in Libya, to ISIS – in Iraq and Syria.

Within the U.S., neo-Marxists by “reverse discrimination,” propagating Critical Racial Theory, seeking out “privileged and whites,” worsened race relations and tremendously strengthened black extremist movements, such as BLM. By fighting against the police, by going out of funding, neo-Marxists have undermined public order.

This Cultural Revolution is accompanied by the loss of religiosity for a significant portion of Americans. This, as well as the successes of feminism and the introduction of newly founded theories of sexuality into society, have undermined the basic mechanism of human functioning: the relation of the sexes. Children from kindergarten and primary school are zombified by theories of perverted human sexuality, the so-called “queer theory”.

The City Journal reports, “Portland Public Schools have launched a war against ‘gender binary’ and have adopted a radically new curriculum educating children about the inferiority of ‘white colonizers’ sexuality and exploring the ‘infinity of the gender spectrum.'”  And the Los Angeles Unified School District has introduced academic queer theory into the school system, encouraging kindergarten children to experiment with synthetic sexual identities such as “trance,” “genderqueer,” “pansexual,” and “two spirits.”

If it seemed to you that people by sexuality are divided into “hetero” and “homo”, now schoolchildren should master such a list of the sexuality index: LGBTQIA2S +.

The public education system of progressive states willingly subjects children caught in its clutches to sterilization in sex reassignment operations. As a form of “child care,” this can happen even without parental notice.

It’s discouraging the role the U.S. has begun to play in the world. David Goldman defines it this way: “Our policy was supposed to be, ‘Peace through strength.’ The Biden administration suggests instead, “Provocation out of weakness.”  I have written about this more than once, referring to the Russian-Ukrainian war.

One of the wisest Americans, an outstanding philosopher and economist, a brilliant publicist who grew up in a poor black family, Thomas Sowell, in 2015, at the age of 85, ended his public career. But now, 7 years later, worried about what was happening, he printed a new article. He warned about this. “The big question is whether this nation has degenerated to the point of no return – the point at which we risk destroying ourselves before our enemies can destroy us.”

Me and my wife Anya, without waiting for an answer to this question, in March 2019 moved to Israel.  Our goal was to bring four of our American granddaughters closer to Israeli life, and they visit us during the holidays, and after graduating from the Jewish schools in which they study in the United States, we hope will continue their education here.

Israel is not a perfect state. The Jews managed to create a unique political system here, in which elections do not guarantee the stable governments.  In November of this year, such an incident may happen for the fifth time in a row. Self-appointed lawyers are often more influential than the elected authorities.

But society functions well in such conditions, which is a good sign. The Western world is rapidly losing religiosity; in Israel, religiosity is on the rise. In the West, there is a crisis of the family; in Israel, there are healthy families and the cult of children.  And the economy is developing successfully.

The great civilization that preceded the modern Western civilization, the ancient Greco-Roman, ended due to demographic extinction.  The Latins in the west of the empire were crushed by the Germans and nomads from the east, and the Greeks of Byzantium by the Turks.

A similar problem has overtaken modern Western civilization. Demographic decline has been taking place in Europe for many years. A few years ago, demographic decline was recorded in the United States. The only country in our civilization with healthy demographics is Israel.

The population of Europe and the United States is being replaced by immigrants from the Third World, although these settlers are unlikely to create successful civilizations.  Otherwise, they would have done it at home.  In the United States, the white population is already in the minority. Russia and Ukraine, already on the list of the most demographically disadvantaged countries, are vigorously destroying their young men in a military conflict. (signed by the translator A.A.)

The old world is in decline. The time of the great civilizations of the East is coming. The Chinese have long been the main producer of goods on the planet. They are developing the territories of southern Siberia, successfully colonizing Africa with its grandiose natural resources. The Chinese are buying up vast plots of land in the United States.

Next in line is India, with a population roughly equal to China in size and also talented.

Generations from now, for the lifetimes of our granddaughters, the locomotive of humanity carrying it into the future will surely be the Chinese and the Indians. In the pulpits of ancient times, they will study bygone civilizations: Greco-Roman, European and American.

A special place in the development of this science and, like all others, will be occupied by Jews – witnesses and participants in the changes of civilizations – thousands of years ago and now.
