On Thursday, May 19, Tony Karman and EXPO CHICAGO celebrated the announcement of the 2016 Exhibitor List and Programming preview for the fifth annual exposition. This festive event happened at Vista Residences Sales Gallery on East Upper Wacker Drive, and featured cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and music. A big number of devoted art patrons gathered for the occasion, in preparation for the upcoming big show later in September. Tony Karman addressed the guests, detailing plans for the next few months before the main event.

An annual and one of the biggest in the world contemporary art show EXPO CHICAGO is in its fifth year, under the leadership of President and Director Tony Karman. (Many patrons have attended every year, including previous incarnations, Artropolis and Art Chicago.) Organizers note, that this year, the exhibitor list contains 145 leading galleries representing 23 countries and 52 cities from around the world. Countries represented at the 2016 exposition include: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Korea, Lebanon, Mexico, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States and Uruguay.
“As we approach our fifth edition, it is important to reflect on the incredible foundation that we have built and, with pride, to herald another exceptional list of participating exhibitors,” said Karman. “On behalf of the many cultural and civic leaders, institutions, curators, collectors, dealers and artists involved, it is gratifying to welcome this diverse list of galleries to Chicago,” he added. The programming includes Dialogues, IN/SITU, IN/SITU Outside, EXPO VIDEO and the Curatorial Forum. In addition, EXPO CHICAGO continues to publish THE SEEN, Chicago’s International Journal of Contemporary & Modern Art, following the first printed edition, which launched during the 2015 exposition.
