Life Is Great Global Foundation (LIG Global) Fundraising Picnic “Dr. Aibolit”

This summer a non-profit medical organization Life Is Great Global Foundation (LIG Global) held a fundraising picnic creatively dubbed “Dr. Aibolit”. The event was held at the Half Day Forest Preserve in Vernon Hills, Illinois.

Over a 100 people came out to support the organization’s efforts to raise funds to bring medical care to underserved areas around the world. The event featured a variety of fun activities for children and adults. Children were engaged in interactive games led by doctors and health care professionals where they learned about medical professions. Meanwhile, adults had an opportunity to network, to enjoy catered food and libations, as well as to dance to crowd’s favorites spun by Kgbeats, and to bid on many great auction items donated by the sponsors.

A good time was had by the attendees, who spoke highly of the organization’s mission. One of the event organizers Dr. Vlada Korol of Kedvon Pharmacy remarked that “it was an honor to organize an event for an outstanding organization that provides charitable medical care to women and others around the world, as well as offers programs for preventative health care, cancer screenings and surgical intervention.” She added that without these essential services to some of the most remote places on earth many people would be deprived of receiving any medical care.

It was likewise an honor to briefly speak with one of the LIG Global’s founders Dr. Olga Gorenyuk. She passionately spoke about the foundation’s mission and about all the work the members do to help remotely located communities that lack any means to provide healthcare. She went on to say that “LIG Global began as the dream of four close friends who made a promise to give themselves through charitable medical care for as long as they were able. To make this dream a reality, these four friends formed the LIG Global Foundation in August of 2011.” She added that “[i]n 3 years, we have developed from an idea in the minds of 4 friends to an international organization conducting projects in eight countries, including USA, Haiti, Dominical Republic, Grenada, India, Peru, Philippines and Tanzania.  LIG Global is committed to the creation of a sustainable, coordinated approach to bringing medical care to the communities in need by uniting various local organizations with LIG’s volunteers.”
