With over a dozen of Chicago’s popular venues offering creative ways to ring in New Year’s Eve, Chicago Empire, held in the heart of River North at Untitled, made for a memorable event. Produced by Justin Jacobson’s Platinum Event drew over 500 fashionable guests and local celebrities decked out in Prohibition-era threads inspired by the venue.

The night infused with excitement offered live performances by The Gold Coast All-Stars, an 11-piece band, hip-hop artist Marcas “Mr. Robotic” Harris, while guests took advantage of the 17,000-square-foot, 6 room venue had an opportunity to get their groove on to mixes by Dj Flaco, Wags and Imam Amy Danielle.
The club’s premium open bars kept the drinks pouring and hors d’oeuvres trays circulating. Co-hosts NBC’s Marcus Riley and Chicago Tribune’s Candace Jordan did the official countdown, while the attendees welcomed in 2013 with a midnight toast.
As I welcomed the New Year I thought about my resolutions, brought on by Candace Jordan’s question for her Watch312 program. As the New Year sets in it brings us renewed hopes to start fresh. What is your New Year’s resolution? More importantly, how do you plan to fulfill it? I look forward to 2013 as it promises to be a rewarding year. Wishing you many blessings this year!
