The attendees mingled, shopped for a variety of Ukrainian goods, and were treated to traditional Ukrainian appetizers and desserts, while a well-known Ukrainian producer and DJ Timafei from Nordjs filled the space with the musical sounds of Ukraine.
The retail store, rendered to life by a local Ukrainian architect Vladimir Radutny, and adorned with blue and yellow accents invites the visitors to experience Ukrainian historic and modern crafts, such as handmade traditional clothes and gifts, a variety of home goods and, of course, a taste of Ukraine – from Shokolad Café.
According to Yevgeniy Drobot, who is the Consul for Economic and Public Diplomacy at the Consulate General of Ukraine in Chicago, “C Ukraine is a first-of-a-kind in the United States cultural showcase designed to tell/show/present what modern Ukraine is all about.” He went on to say that “we are committed to staying at the forefront of Ukraine’s innovative landscape, sharing groundbreaking ideas, and highlighting remarkable achievements.” He then further explained that the platform features “works of talented Ukrainian artists, designers and creative industries, uncovering their inspiring stories and celebrating their unique contributions to the cultural scene.” He added, “we proudly feature Ukrainian brands that are gaining popularity domestically and internationally.”“C Ukraine” was made possible through the generous support of World Business Chicago in association with the Consulate General of Ukraine.
“C Ukraine”, along with participating Ukrainian Chicago-based businesses have partnered with non-profit organization United24 (501C3) to donate profits to rebuild a destroyed hospital in the war-torn Kharkiv Region.
