What: Children’s International, a nonprofit organization presents its 2nd annual International Children’s Day, a day dedicated to promoting the rights, health and happiness of children across the world. Children and parents from various ethnic backgrounds and socioeconomic levels from Chicago-land will gather for this joyful celebration. The Arts4Kids Foundation, an organization that aims to introduce children to arts is collaborating with the Children’s International in support of this event.

The event will feature a variety of fun activities including: Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, Arts & Crafts, Games & Sports, Face Painting, Hair Braiding, Taekwondo Lessons, Police Safety Show & Tell, Junior Zumba Class, Ultimate Martial Arts Demonstration, Mad Science Show and Children’s Disco. The Chicago Fire Department will highlight this special event by a special demonstration with its fire truck.
Admission, food, giveaways and activities are all free!

When: Sunday, June 1, 2014: 11:00am – 6:00pm
Why: In 1925, the World Conference for the Well-being of Children in Geneva, Switzerland, proclaimed June 1 to be International Children’s Day. This day is usually marked with speeches on children’s rights and well-being, combined with other activities dedicated to children. The mission of International Children’s Day is to remind the society that children are our future and we must create a safe environment that fosters an environment for children to blossom into leaders of tomorrow. As such, this event aims to facilitate an action to benefit and promote the welfare of the world’s children.
