On September 14, 2014, in Arlington Heights, IL, A Day At The Races – A Benefit for Illinois Holocaust Museum & Educational Center was held at the Arlington International Racecourse.
The event attracted over 250 supporters joining together to benefit a notable cause and to ensure that the past is not forgotten. Men decked out in their finest threads were joined by women wearing fashionable big hats suitable for the occasion. Guests watched the races, networked, enjoyed delicate buffet spread and libations, and had an opportunity to bid on silent auction items. Lucky winners took home featured raffle prizes such as a four-night trip for two to Punta Mita and four courtside Chicago Bulls Tickets, to name a few.
All in all — the event raised $135,000 to benefit its mission to educate the public about the tragic and the heroic past. As the organization’s founding principle states: “Remember the Past, Transform the Future.”

The Museum is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the Holocaust by honoring the memories of those who were lost and by teaching universal lessons that combat hatred, prejudice and indifference. The Museum fulfills its mission through the exhibition, preservation and interpretation of its collections and through education programs and initiatives that foster the promotion of human rights and the elimination of genocide. http://www.ilholocaustmuseum.org
