Catching Dreams for Canvass

During Catching Dreams for Canvass, fifth grade students from Oak Park, Illinois will create original artwork in a workshop at Both Sides Art Gallery in Pilsen! These students have been working hard for human trafficking prevention and this will be their second fundraiser this school year towards that effort. Their artwork will be on display and for sale during a silent auction at a reception that will immediately follow their workshop.
The event immediately following will be open to the public and will include:
— kids will create their very own dream catchers and have a chance to
be selected to be exhibited as an installation at gala with Chicago’s well-known artists!
— a raffle and a silent auction!
— sale of baked good!
— live painting by artists from New York and Chicago
— open mic!
— fun! fun! fun!
Canvass (an intimate fundraising gala)

Cost: tickets ranging from $25 to $75
Canvass is an intimate fundraising art exhibition and gala featuring artists from around the country. Artists were encouraged to submit works of art for the Canvass exhibition that explore a personal issue on which they are taking a stand for the betterment of their lives.
This intimate international exhibition & art patron spectacular will showcase:
— Corso Studio Premieres: living art sculptures, styled by the J-Na Haute Couture, painted live by artist Anna Todaro, recently known for her mural effort at Navy Pier
— International, national, & prominent local artist exhibition.
— Meet the artists
— Interactive art for guests & «young artist» installation
— Unique poetic fashion runway performance from designers & art wear supporters.
— Red carpet experience
— Dance to live music and deejay
— Culinary delights from premiere Chicago restaurants
— Open bar with fine wines, signature cocktails, and beverages
— Silent auction and raffle featuring art, MCA, Hubbard Dance, Akira, Independent designers, fine products & eventful services.
— Located in the fabulously hip Pilsen neighborhood of arts & culture
This opening event seeks to bring entertainment, arts, and culture to raise awareness about human trafficking and join in the fight to end modern-day slavery! Proceeds from this event will go towards The DreamCatchers Foundation and their efforts to turn victims into survivors!
